NanoCeram®
Electropositive Syringe Filters |
|
NanoCeram® Electropositive Syringe Filters are specifically designed to combine high throughputs and maximum sample recovery when filtering or sterilizing viscous
proteineceous solutions.
The media has a high capacity for
particles as large as tens of microns or as small as a few nanometers.
It is well suited for maximum sample recovery such as tissue culture media preparation, sterile or non-sterile filtration and clarification of biological fluids, protein and
enzyme filtrations, hybridization buffers, and other aqueous solutions. |

NanoCeram®
alumina fibers attract
and retain virus and
other macromolecules by
electrostatic forces.
These fibers have been
incorporated into
fibrous ("depth")
filters and have found
to have ~ 6-7 logs of
virus retention even at
flow rates several
orders of magnitude
greater than could be
obtained using
ultraporous membranes. A
single layer of media
retains greater than 99%
of 30 nanometer
monodisperse latex
spheres or 25 nm virus,
giving it an Absolute
rating of 0.03 microns.
While Absolute 0.2
µ
membranes are
transparent to virus, 3
layers of NanoCeram®
retain greater than
99.9999%. Yet flow
rates are hundreds of
times greater than such
membranes. The
NanoCeram®
filter is effective over
pH 5-10, water
temperatures of
4 to 50
degrees
C and in the presence of
dissolved salts. |
