The Next
Generation of Carbon Media |
|
Argonide Corporation, a Sanford,
Florida company that manufactures water purification filters, has recently announced the development
of a high performance activated carbon filter. NanoCeram®, the company's existing product, is capable
of removing small particles, bacteria and virus from water at high flow rates, using the principal of
electrostatic attraction and adsorption. The filter has received many awards including the 2005 Hall
of Fame award from the Space Foundation. The media in the filter is licensed to the Ahlstrom
Corporation and is sold under the trade name Disruptor™

A
novel concept with far-reaching implications for laboratory R&D prior to future scale-up. Similar concept to that for NanoCeram-PAC, but where we can
infuse a media with ultra-small particles of other materials such as catalysts, adsorbents, etc; |

Electropositive Pleated Cartridges Exhibit
Ultra-Low SDI Values |
|
Argonide's patented NanoCeram®
technology has staked a claim in the demanding
membrane prefiltration market. The Sanford,
Florida-based company manufactures a full line
of standard filter cartridges based on their
patented NanoCeram® electropositive
media. This media yields SDI (Silt Density
Index) values averaging < 0.5 with turbidity
levels < 0.01 NTU when incorporated in standard
pleated cartridges. These results will often
out-perform many UF devices currently used in
ultrapure water systems. |
